A snack brand born from lockdown, longing and a lifelong love of food.
Hey fellow foodies, I’m Emily.
I founded PopCornaa (aka POP CORN-AY) during one of the most uncertain times in recent history — the middle of a pandemic, while living on the Isle of Man, craving the bold Asian snacks I grew up loving but couldn’t find anywhere.
Global supply chains had collapsed. Store shelves were empty. And for someone who found comfort in the flavours of home — seaweed, soy, miso, matcha — it felt like something was missing. So, I made my own.
What started as a home snack became something bigger. PopCornaa was born in my kitchen with a simple mission: to recreate the flavours I missed in a joyful, nostalgic, and 100% plant-based way — using real ingredients and unapologetically bold ideas.
A Bit About Me
I’m British Born Chinese, and food has always been more than just a passion — it’s part of my DNA.
I grew up in the heart of a family-run food empire in London. From managing global supply chains to supplying Chinatown and beyond, we were early pioneers in bringing Asian ingredients into the UK mainstream.
My childhood was filled with the energy of wholesale markets, restaurant kitchens, and the unrelenting hum of hustle and flavour.
I’ve lived between London, Singapore and the Isle of Man, and travelled extensively all over the world — collecting stories, ingredients, and inspiration along the way.
PopCornaa is the fusion of those memories and experiences. A brand built on culture, curiosity, and crunch.
